Hi, friends!

As you know, for the last year and a half, I have worked very hard to open Wild Child, my dream restaurant. With the help of my partners, generous friends and amazing staff, we've had a glimpse of what this dream could look like. We had the opportunity to experiment and be a part of the Etna community and greater Pittsburgh community at many pop-ups, farm dinners and other events during a truly wild year.

We've navigated a global pandemic, many delays, and personal challenges while trying to make this dream come true. I know many of you can relate. With a heavy heart, I want to let you know that I have decided to pause this project.

As with many people navigating this pandemic, I'm not sure what is next for my career, but I am looking forward to being able to spend some needed time with my abuelita and my mom back in Puerto Rico. Now feels like an important time to shift my focus to what matters most: family. You will still see me around town - I can't stay away from cooking for you all! - but I will be traveling back and forth between Pittsburgh and Puerto Rico for a bit.

I know many have been looking forward to the opening of Wild Child, and I'm very sorry to disappoint anyone. While this is an indefinite pause, I do hope to return to this dream in the future. I want to thank everyone who has given of themselves to help Wild Child get this far. You have been so generous and good to me.

At this time, I ask for your grace and understanding. You'll be the first to know what's next from me.

Keep supporting the vibrant culinary scene that our city has to offer!

Love,

Jamilka
